What is Make it Better?
Things are pretty bad. There's a war going on. We can't tell if we're in a recession or not. Everyone is looking for work. Plants are closing. Viruses are breaking out. People are politically polarized. There are forever chemicals, microplastics, glyphosate and a whole host of other bad stuff in our water, food, soil and air.
We could complain about it, and we probably will, but we want to devote ourselves to do more than complain. We'd like to make things better. So, Steven Jones, a Fayetteville-based editor and writer, and Nichole Russ, a Fayetteville-based designer and business maven, decided to start an online magazine/website so we can help our community -- and our community can help us -- make things better. Better food with delicious recipes. Better families with tips and activities designed to bring everyone together. Better communities with ways to decrease crime and increase neighborly connections.
We'll cover "hard news" -- we're currently planning a piece on the Goodyear plant closings -- but we're going to make sure that everything we cover includes ways that you and your community can make things better.
It's easy to complain; it's a little harder to find ways to improve things. We're hoping Make it Better can contribute -- at least a little bit -- to being part of the solution.
